DIY - Oatmeal, Egg Yolk & Agave Face Mask

March 1, 2017

So this sophisticated look is brought to you courtesy of oatmeal, egg yolk and agave. I said "oatmeal sounds sophisticated", let's do this picture to go along with it.

On a serious note, I am finally coming off that time of the month, and my skin is starting to clear up again. I had a horrible breakout this cycle which is healing right up, so i decided to do this face mask to speed up the process and reinforce my pores. I do have to say that after doing it, my skin feels tight, fresh and healthy.

Ingredients and benefits:

  • Oatmeal: This magic ingredient has a lot more benefits than i actually thought. Besides filling up your belly in the morning, oatmeal (when used on the face) has antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties that may even help people with skin conditions including eczema and sunburn, even helping to regulate the PH levels, reducing itchiness.

  • Egg Yolk: This ingredient has been used in the beauty industry for years, and for good cause. It is very rich in nutrients and fats that help moisturize and nourish your skin. The presence of vitamin A in egg yolk can help rid you of acne just as many, more expensive alternatives.

  • Agave: Agave nectar is derived from an ancient plant used for thousands of years as a folk remedy for many skin conditions and injuries. It is said to have hydrating, healing and anti-aging properties.

Procedure:

  • 4 Tbsp Oatmeal (Ground)

  • 4 Tbsp hot Water

  • 1 Tbsp Agave

  • 1 Egg Yolk

Mix the hot water and the oatmeal together until it is softened and let cool. Mix all other ingredients together and apply to the face. Let dry for 5-10 minutes or until the egg yolk feels tight. Wash away with warm water.
