The Vixen Workout
I've mentioned I'm a Master Vixen Workout Instructor; I’ve been with Vixen since its inception in 2013. I’ve also mentioned that I am not a fan of your typical workout regime (shout out to our #TableTalk peeps. I cannot fathom how you accomplish half of what you do). So with my cards laid out on the table, let’s talk about Vixen. What is it; Why is it growing so quickly; How can someone possibly look so sexy while burning an average of 700 calories?
What is the Vixen Workout?
“Our classes create an environment where you can experience an emotional release, mind-body connection, and a sense of community while burning anywhere between 400 to over 1,000 calories!” From a fitness standpoint, Vixen’s core involves HIIT, cardiorespiratory fitness and muscle endurance training (sometimes all found in one routine). This is not a typical dance program where you follow repetitive moves for 60 minutes straight. Vixen presents its classes with the challenge of picking-up choreography and performing it.
As a longtime instructor, I describe Vixen as therapy. After a long-ass day at work, I want nothing more than to dance it all away and know I killed it. I’m not alone; whether you visit the West Coast or take class in Manhattan, we offer a space for our students to let go. Sometimes its while we’re rapping to the latest Yeezy, other times while we’re reenacting Ultra.

Once you take a Vixen class, you are officially part of the #VIXENARMY. Look up the hashtag on social and see our global network. We encourage our #VIXENARMY to share their experience and invite others to join. We also advocate sweaty after-class selfies.

So where do i come into the picture? I currently teach Wednesdays at 7 PM and Saturdays at 9:30 and 11AM at our Miami studio. Special note about Saturday 9:30 AM – this class is called “Vixen 101.” It’s an intro class that we recommend to all newbies. We breakdown all the moves to our routines in an intimate, hand-on setting.
