Get to Know Yasamin!
Hello you! My name is Yasamin Shamloo, and I am a part of this amazing Eat, Breathe, Sweat team. You may have noticed that I’ve actually been here for a few weeks if you've caught any of the recent "Breathe" articles. I didn’t formally introduce myself because I was told snapchat selfies didn't count as professional pics -- I'm still hopeful for the future.
A little bit about me, I was born and raised in Miami, FL with a mix of Cuban and Persian genes. Growing up, I was always intrigued by people, especially their personalities and behaviors. Asking questions that serve to really understand human nature in its most authentic and unique state is exciting to me. I get a rush of energy when I’m having honest conversations with other people about their fears, passions, mess ups, vulnerabilities, and strengths.
My interests led me to enroll as a Psychology major at the University of Florida where I earned my Bachelors in Psychology. I then went on to receive a Master of Science and Education in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Miami. Currently, I work as a Registered Mental Health Counselor at a counseling practice where I greatly enjoy helping others overcome life struggles and live life to the fullest.
I am honored to be working alongside the incredible Camila and Nicolle. Fun fact: We were all on the same dance team in high school! From what I remember, we have always been dedicated, passionate, and those kind of girls who just don’t take “no” for an answer. And even though we all have the same ambitious personality, we differ in our areas of professional work, which is why I think it’s so cool that we are able to share everything we know (and are still learning) through EatBreatheSweat!
Why am I a part of EatBreatheSweat? I’m here to share everything I know about how to live the best authentic life, full of purpose, strength, joy, and peace of mind. Honestly, I’m still learning how to do this myself, but we are on this journey together and we’re not backing out! I can’t do this alone, so I encourage you to reach out and connect with me. I would love to learn from you as well as answer questions you may have. Let’s do this!
